Tricon Residential is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Corporate Reporting to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring senior accountants, directing and reviewing balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations, and overseeing the internal monthly reporting process.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership and guidance to senior accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Direct and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations for income-producing business segments to ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
- Oversee the internal monthly reporting process, including reviewing monthly reports and ensuring results are consistent with plans.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements for private investors and corporate financial statements and management reports.
- Review analytical financial reports to assist with month-end variance analysis and provide guidance on industry standards.
- Research accounting matters and provide guidance on industry standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure results are consistent with plans and offer variance analysis as required.
- Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including oversight of the monthly close calendar.
- Assist with the annual audit process, including responding to audit inquiries, preparation or review of requested documents, testing of internal controls, and preparation of financial statements.
- Assist with annual budget process and quarterly reforecast, including improving and automating workbooks to enhance accuracy of financial reporting.
- Review and approve journal entries and implement system and process improvements to ensure efficient and effective financial reporting.
- University degree in Finance, Commerce, or relevant field, and CPA certification.
- 4+ years of manager and/or leadership experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm.
- Thorough knowledge of IFRS accounting and financial reporting standards.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to high standards for work quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Yardi and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV an asset.
- Residential real estate experience preferred.
