Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Reporting Manager to join our team at Tricon Residential. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and oversight to our residential rental portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to senior accountants, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Financial Reporting: Direct and review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations for income-producing business segments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Internal Reporting: Oversee the internal monthly reporting process, reviewing and analyzing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation of financial statements for private investors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Financial Analysis: Review analytical financial reports to assist with month-end variance analysis, providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Accounting Guidance: Research accounting matters and provide guidance on industry standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work with internal stakeholders to ensure results are consistent with plans, providing variance analysis as required.
  • Close Process: Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including oversight of the monthly close calendar.
  • Audit Support: Assist with the annual audit process, including responding to audit inquiries, preparation or review of requested documents, testing of internal controls, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with the annual budget process and quarterly reforecast, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Process Improvement: Improve and automate workbooks to enhance accuracy of financial reporting, implementing system and process improvements as needed.
  • Internal Controls: Enforce proper internal controls, ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting processes.
  • Special Projects: Work with executive/senior management on special projects, as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: University degree in Finance, Commerce (or relevant field) and CPA certified.
  • Experience: 4+ years of manager and/or leadership experience (Big 4 experience strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of IFRS accounting and financial reporting.
  • Skills: Self-starter with ability to work independently in a fast-paced and challenging environment, strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with other Microsoft Office products.
  • Assets: Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Yardi, and/or Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and residential real estate experience.
