Job Summary
The University Health Network is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre. As a key member of our echocardiography laboratory, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound imaging procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality
- Perform echocardiograms on a diverse patient population, including those with complex cardiac conditions
- Prepare and document patient records, including written and electronic reports
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide optimal patient care and support
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and new technologies
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized post-diploma program in cardiovascular principles and instrumentation
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Minimum of two years recent cardiac ultrasound experience
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) and Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
