About the Opportunity

The University of Toronto is seeking a distinguished academic leader to fill the Toby Hull Chair in Fibrillation Research. This prestigious position is designed to recognize and support an individual with a proven track record of excellence in research and academic leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a research program in electrophysiology with a focus on fibrillation research, leveraging large data sets for computational or artificial intelligence (AI) based research.
  • Expand on existing internal and external collaborations, supporting fellows in training and academic research.
  • Develop and implement a strategic research plan aligned with the priorities of the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre.
  • Mentor and support junior faculty members and research trainees.

Requirements

  • Hold a full-time clinical (MD) or status-only academic appointment within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
  • Have an established international record of accomplishment in basic, translational, or outcome-based research in the area of atrial or ventricular fibrillation.
  • Be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario (for practicing clinicians).
  • Demonstrate a strong research focus and significant expertise in cardiovascular research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in leveraging large data sets for computational or AI-based research.
  • Alignment with priority areas of the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, such as AI, digital health, and atrial fibrillation.
