About the Role

This position is accountable for supporting the Maintenance function by preventing and repairing mechanical breakdowns. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing repairs to machinery and plant support systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical problems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical problems
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) schedules on machinery and Plant Support equipment
  • Suggest preventative measures to minimize or eliminate breakdowns
  • Maintain correct safety standards at all times
  • Complete all check sheets and records as it relates to the P.M. program, Work Orders, etc
  • Member of the Emergency Response Team
  • Capable of instructing maintenance personnel in trade-related tasks and skills
  • Diagnose and repair basic electrical problems with equipment
  • Modify machinery and equipment and overhaul machines as directed
  • Install, set up, and commission new equipment
  • Aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it affects quality and the environment for our customers

Requirements

  • Completion of specialized trade courses and/or apprenticeship/certification
  • 3 to less than 5 years of work-related experience
  • Minimum Certified Tradesman (Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright)
  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) equivalency preferred
  • Minimum 1 year directly related trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Stamping environment - Dortec Bradford Specific
  • Must have an exceptional Safety Record
