**Job Title:** Lifeguard/ Swim Instructor

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lifeguard/ Swim Instructor to join our team at the Aquatic Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and controlling activities, ensuring safety standards, and providing exceptional customer service.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Supervise and control activities in the pool area, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for guests.
  • Exercise mature judgment in carrying out lifeguarding and instructing duties.
  • Teach a wide variety of swim programs, including lessons for children and adults.
  • Perform rescues and first aid as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized aquatic facility.

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR - C certification.
  • WHMIS certification.
  • Ability to perform skills to the NLS standard.

**Preferred Education, Skills and Knowledge:**

  • Completion of Grade 10.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including daytime, evenings, weekends, and split shifts.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Knowledge and experience working as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain required certifications.

**Assets:**

  • Pool Operations Level 1 certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • High Five (PCD) certification.
  • Aquafit certification (CALA, Canfit, waterart).
  • NCCP coaching Level 1 certification.

**Additional Requirements:**

  • Must submit a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
  • Must provide evidence of a clear TB test.

**Working Conditions:**

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 5 hours to a maximum of 35 hours per week.
  • Starting pay rate: $29.13 per hour plus applicable benefits.
