Job Summary

The Risk Management and Insurance Manager will be responsible for the planning, organization, control, and efficient operation of the Insurance, Prevention, and Management of Insurable Risks sector. This role will contribute to the definition of management's objectives, strategic orientations, and priorities with a view to meeting insurance coverage needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning
    • Contribute to the definition of management's objectives, strategic orientations, and priorities with a view to meeting insurance coverage needs;
    • Analyze and identify major issues that may influence risk management, and adapt coverage needs accordingly;
  • Relationship Management
    • Establish and maintain relations with key partners in the updating of projects;
    • Liaise with the broker for all portfolio modifications and compliance requests (e.g. certificate);
  • Incident Management
    • Responsible for incident management (commercial fleet, asset theft, real estate, corporate fleet, and other) as well as those related to the storage of third-party assets;
    • Responsible for corporate and commercial fleet management;
  • Claims Management
    • Prepares claims files (presentation to insurer and/or in progress);

Requirements

  • University degree in business administration or other relevant field;
  • Ten (10) years' experience as a risk manager for major corporations or as a broker managing major accounts with liability and property insurance issues;
  • Holds the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation from the Insurance Institute or the Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation, an asset;
  • Proficiency in property and casualty insurance coverage;
  • Good knowledge and experience in handling claims and their causes;
  • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of insurance issues;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in French and English;
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster a good working environment;
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills;
  • Sense of organization and priorities;
  • Ability to influence and negotiate;
  • Stress tolerance and rationality under pressure;
  • Judgment and discernment.
