About the Role

AECOM is seeking a motivated Water/Wastewater Process Engineering Intern to join our team in Markham, ON.


Main Responsibilities

  • Engineering Tasks - Perform assignments involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks related to municipal wastewater treatment and automation design and construction administration activities.
  • Project Management - Work under the supervision of a project manager, contract administrator, and/or senior-level team member.
  • Wastewater Engineering - Participate in wastewater engineering, process, and automation design activities, including the preparation of design calculations, equipment sizing and selection, process layouts, engineering specifications, and cost estimates.
  • CAD Drawings - Prepare CAD drawings such as P&IDs, process piping, control panel, and network drawings.
  • Equipment Selection - Liaise with equipment suppliers and vendors for equipment selection.
  • Quantity and Cost Estimates - Review quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy.
  • Contract Administration - Participate in contract administration services during the construction of wastewater infrastructure and facilities.
  • Site Investigations - Perform municipal wastewater treatment plant site investigations, data collection, and analysis activities.
  • Technical Reports - Prepare technical memoranda and contribute to preliminary and detailed design reports.
  • Permitting - Prepare permitting applications for local regulatory agencies.
  • Design Teams - Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams and assist with coordination tasks.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Mechatronics, Systems Design, or a related field and have completed at least one year of study.


Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor's degree and plan to continue with a master's degree are eligible to apply for this position.
