Job Requirements

As a Construction Contract Specialist at Associated Engineering, you will be responsible for administering construction contracts and ensuring compliance with contract documents and engineering design. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including reservoirs, soil management scopes, roads, bridges, culverts, and drainage structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contract documents and engineering design
  • Coordinate activities on construction projects, including liaising with clients, contractors, approvals bodies, and public
  • Prepare various contract administration paperwork, including agendas, minutes, daily logs, photographic records, request for information, testing reports, change orders, deficiency lists, and construction payment certificates
  • Review traffic management plans for conformance and implementation per Ontario Traffic Manual - Book 7
  • Interpret specifications, plans, and regulations
  • Prepare engineering sketches, technical specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimation
  • Administer/ manage projects involving reservoirs, soil management scope, roads, bridges, culverts, drainage structures

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil, Process, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution or Diploma in Construction, Construction Management, from an accredited college
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with PEO or eligible for registration; or, registered with designation(s) from OACETT, is an asset
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in a Construction Site Representative / Contract Administrator / Construction/Project Management role, is required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in water / wastewater treatment facility design and/or construction, is required
  • 10+ years of progressive experience with multi-discipline design coordination and construction, is required
  • Experience with contract administration and on-site inspection principles, practices, and techniques, is required
  • Experience working for a consulting engineering firm, construction firm, and/or a municipality is an asset
  • Working knowledge of construction contract interpretation and construction acts
