About the Role

The Talent Acquisition Consultant will be responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies for targeted roles, as well as high-volume positions that require a continuous candidate pipeline. The execution of targeted research strategies will enable the achievement of our hiring objectives for high-quality candidates. Success will be driven by the consultant's ability to network, their persistence in research, building strong relationships with managers, and analyzing candidates with rigor. Additionally, your understanding of the organization/candidate being sought and your ability to promote our various positions will contribute to the growth of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with HR managers and hiring managers to:
  • Understand vacant positions through strategic recruitment meetings and build candidate profiles for each search.
  • Develop a targeted hiring strategy including diversity-focused methodologies and an effective candidate evaluation process.
  • Fill positions ranging from individual contributors to management.
  • Assist hiring managers and HR managers in understanding the Canadian job market for highly sought-after skills.
  • Share best practices in recruitment; new recruitment tools; compare job profiles to identify common skill groups.
  • Continuously improve the department: process efficiency, policies, and recruitment processes.
  • Develop and cultivate a wide network of professional contacts to help identify and attract qualified candidates in specific sectors.
  • Use advanced research techniques (candidate tracking systems, search engine optimization, and social media recruitment) across multiple channels to develop relationships with key professionals for targeted positions.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the compensation program, social benefits, salary structures, and long-term and short-term incentive plans for potential candidates.

Requirements

  • Preference for experience in corporate environments and recruitment firms; also experience in headhunting for positions across Canada.
  • Relevant degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Talent Acquisition Consultant.
  • Expert-level knowledge in all components of headhunting, including but not limited to, qualified candidates, networking, employment analysis, salary trends, and relationship management.
  • Ability to build strong and credible relationships with hiring managers by leveraging external market knowledge to consult and influence recruitment strategy.
  • Ability to understand, articulate, and document requirements stated by the manager, and formulate a clear value proposition that will attract the caliber of candidate we need.
  • Must be both tactical and strategic and have the ability to communicate the global strategic vision as well as execution details.
  • Ability to establish solid relationships by phone and in person.
  • Excellent influencing skills to identify key people in searches and ensure clear communication between all stakeholders.
  • Advanced experience in candidate evaluation, innovative headhunting techniques, and passive recruitment.
  • English and French required as the role supports and interacts with team members from all Canadian provinces.
