Tsleil-Waututh Nation Housing Manager Position

About the Role:
">We are seeking a skilled and experienced Housing Manager to join our team at the Tsleil-Waututh Nation. In this key role, you will be responsible for overseeing the administration of our housing programs, ensuring that all aspects of housing management are carried out in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
">- Housing Program Management: Assist members in accessing safe and affordable housing opportunities, monitor housing rents and arrears, manage mortgages, provide timely information and support to the TWN Housing Committee/Authority, and develop and maintain accurate and well-organized records.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Plan and implement preventative scheduled and emergency maintenance and repairs of housing stock and other assets, negotiate and monitor contracts and service agreements, and authorize and monitor revenues and expenditures within approved budgets.
- Communication and Community Engagement: Facilitate effective and accessible communications with the community and funders, address questions and complaints in a sensitive and timely manner, and report to the community and funders as required.
Requirements:
">- Qualifications: Post-secondary education/training in Property Management, Construction, or Building Related Field or equivalent; five years' direct experience in a residential/commercial building environment and demonstrated competence; minimum of two years' experience in Managerial/Supervisory role (preferably administering First Nations housing); familiarity with ISC and CMHC housing programming and understanding of financial issues.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to deal tactfully with sensitive issues, proven track record of successfully delivering high-profile projects, and ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
