Job Summary

As a Public Affairs Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for acting as a ministry contact and arranging media interviews, researching and preparing written materials, monitoring issues and trends in media coverage and correspondence, developing and implementing communications plans, and writing and editing other written communications materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a ministry contact and arrange media interviews;
  • Research and prepare written materials including news releases, backgrounders, and media interview guides;
  • Monitor issues and trends in media coverage and correspondence;
  • Develop and implement communications plans to support ministry goals and objectives;
  • Write and edit other written communications materials;
Requirements

Typically, the knowledge for this position would be obtained through completion of a certificate or degree in journalism or communications, although a combination of education and work experience will be considered. Preference will be given to qualified equity group members who self-declare in this application.
