About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Information Specialist to join our team at CB Canada. As a Medical Information Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely medical information to patients, healthcare professionals, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Information Provision: Respond to medical inquiries from patients, healthcare professionals, and clients in English and/or French, providing accurate and up-to-date information on assigned products.
  • Adverse Event Reporting: Recognize, triage, and forward adverse events to appropriate personnel as per procedures and within strict defined timelines.
  • Product Quality Complaints: Recognize, triage, and forward product quality complaints to appropriate personnel as per procedures and within strict acceptable timelines.
  • Database Management: Enter all medical information requests into the designated database.
  • Product Information Maintenance: Maintain and develop current product information, frequently asked questions, standard letters, and other relevant medical information material in the designated database for assigned products.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Develop reports to provide to clients summarizing key performance indicators (KPIs). Generate agreed-upon reports in a timely fashion. Investigate any questions from clients in relation to these reports.
  • Client Communication: Work directly with internal and external clients to request additional information or clarification as necessary.
  • Complex Enquiry Response: Develop responses to complex enquiries based on the literature in a timely manner.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in audit preparation.
  • Research and Documentation: Conduct literature searches as required. Sort incoming faxes and documents. File source documentation.
  • Other Tasks: Perform other tasks assigned by the Director and/or Manager, as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor degree in a healthcare-related discipline.
  • Language: Fluent in English and French; bilingualism is an asset.
  • Experience: 3-5 years' experience in medical information, drug safety, clinical research, or equivalent and related experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to engage well over the telephone with patients, consumers, and healthcare professionals. Excellent writing skills. Can-do attitude, with proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Availability: Able to work any 8-hour shift between 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM, if necessary.

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Software Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office programs.
