Job Description
As a Senior Geriatric Care Specialist, you will be an active member of a multidisciplinary team providing patient-focused care for the Rehab/Geriatric Unit. You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the planning and implementation of care for a wide variety of Rehab/Geriatric cases.
Required Skills and Qualifications

- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
- Medication administration and asceptic technique certification mandatory.
- 1-2 years experience in the Rehab/Geriatric setting.
- Strong geriatric/medical/surgical/ background.
- Advanced RPN assessment skills (i.e. catheterization care, skin/wound care).
- Caring and compassionate attitude towards patients and families.
- Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary Rehab team setting
- Ability to co-ordinate and interface with community resources, CCAC and family members, e.g. discharge conferences.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position such as lifting and transfer of heavy care patients, utilizing assistance of others/equipment as required.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

Additional Information
Hourly salary: $33.26 to $35.97, Monday to Sunday, various rotating 12 hour shifts, 0730-1930, 1930-0730 (hours subject to change based on operational requirements)
