Senior Business Systems Analyst

The Senior Business Systems Analyst plays a critical role in providing strategic business analysis services to business partners. This position requires a deep understanding of business strategy, processes, services, and roadmaps to identify and address operational, financial, and technological requirements and risks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Process Documentation: Review and document business processes from end-to-end to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for operational, financial, and technological enhancements.
  2. Requirements Gathering: Document requirements, specifications, data mapping, and business rules to ensure that proposed solutions meet business needs.
  3. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with business partners to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions, working closely with project management and technical teams.
  4. Workflow Analysis: Document workflows and perform process mapping to identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations for process enhancements.
  5. User Acceptance Testing: Support user acceptance testing by translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results.
  6. Process Standardization: Adhere to existing processes and standards, including the system development life cycle and project management methodology, and escalate issues as necessary.
  7. Project Planning: Contribute to the development of project plans by participating in scoping and estimating of proposed projects.
  8. Project Status Updates: Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to the Project Manager or Application Manager.
Qualifications
  1. 6+ years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst.
  2. 4+ years' experience in the financial industry.
  3. 2+ years of experience with data workflows, data mapping, and process mapping.
  4. Experience in Loan Origination for Mortgages.
  5. Certified Business Analyst Profession (CBAP).
  6. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
  7. Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  8. Strategic thinking, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is a minimum 8-month contract with a possible extension, offering a hybrid work arrangement with the option to work from home or in downtown Toronto.
