Senior Business Systems Analyst

The Senior Business Systems Analyst plays a pivotal role in providing strategic business analysis services to business partners at Onico Solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of business strategy, processes, services, and roadmaps to effectively address business challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Process Documentation: Collaborate with business partners to document business processes from end-to-end, identifying operational, financial, and technological requirements and risks.
- Requirements Gathering: Document requirements, specifications, data mapping, and business rules, making recommendations to improve proposed solutions.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with business partners to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management or technical teams.
- Workflow Mapping: Document workflows and perform process mapping, results of business analysis, and requirement gathering, obtaining sign-off from business on the business requirement documentation.
- User Acceptance Testing: Support user acceptance testing in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results.
- Process Adherence: Adhere to existing processes/standards, including the system development life cycle and project management methodology, architecture, and escalate issues if necessary.
- Project Planning: Contribute to the development of project plans by participating in the scoping and estimating of proposed projects.
- Project Status Updates: Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to the Project manager or Application manager.
- 6+ years' experience as a business systems analyst/business analyst.
- 4+ years' experience in the financial industry is required.
- 2+ years of experience with data workflows – data mapping, process mapping.
- Experience in Loan Origination for Mortgages.
- Certified Business Analyst Profession (CBAP).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Time management, highly organized, work independently.
- Strategic/forward thinking.
- Negotiating, influencing.
- Interpersonal relationship building.
- Communication (verbal and written) – excellent.
- Conflict resolution.
- Multi-tasking in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
This is a minimum 8-month contract with a possible extension, offering a hybrid work arrangement (downtown Toronto).
