About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at 2438588 ONTARIO INC. as a key member of our estimating department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Bidding
    • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
    • Develop and submit pre-qualification submissions to present to clients
  • Project Management
    • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
    • Operate computer-aided design (CADD) and other software systems to create estimates and reports
  • Financial Analysis
    • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
    • Conduct economic feasibility studies and provide preliminary estimates for proposed projects
    • Project cash flow and financing requirements
  • Reporting and Communication
    • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
    • Advise on tendering procedures and analyze tenders to recommend awards
    • Set up and maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Collaboration and Liaison
    • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field
  • Skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
