About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team at McShawn Diversified Incorporated. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining buildings, structures, and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction and Installation
    • Prepare layouts and designs for building projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to create structures and fixtures.
    • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Repair and Maintenance
    • Inspect and diagnose defects in buildings and structures.
    • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure structures are safe and functional.
  • Tools and Equipment
    • Operate power tools and equipment, such as saws, drills, and sanders.
    • Use hand tools, such as hammers, chisels, and planes.
  • Work Environment
    • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in noisy and dusty environments.
    • Work in various locations, including construction sites, residential areas, and commercial buildings.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
    • 5 years or more of experience in the carpentry trade.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Working at heights training.
    • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
    • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
