Job Description:

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a compassionate and knowledgeable professional to work with children, youth, and families in the York Region District School Board. The successful candidate will provide addiction and mental health promotion and prevention services, developing and delivering evidence-based programming that meets the objectives of the MHCB initiative.

The ideal candidate will have a related post-secondary degree or diploma in social sciences, or relevant courses and experience. They should possess knowledge of addiction and mental health, be familiar with the developmental needs of children, youth, and families, and have experience with delivering programming and public speaking.

Key Responsibilities include working as part of a team to recognize, understand, and adapt to the changing needs of the community, building and maintaining strong relationships with children, youth, and families, and acting as a go-to mental health subject matter expert. Additionally, the Success Coach will help identify and facilitate access to specialized addiction and mental health services, ensuring all documentation is in compliance with HIA and FOIPP, and assisting with evaluation activities and survey data collection.

We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about addiction and mental health services, has experience working with diverse populations, and can communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and community members. A strong understanding of the local community and resources available is essential, as well as the ability to maintain program statistics and evaluate the effectiveness of programs.

Please note that all employees must provide a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check, and regulated health professionals will be required to show an original copy of a valid practice permit before commencing duties.
