CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health is committed to delivering high-quality mental health care to children, youth, and families. We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Nurse to join our team in Calgary as part of our expanding Trauma program.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide trauma-focused, attachment-centric care to Albertan children, youth, and families. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patients' physical and psychosocial needs, developing individualized care plans, and providing education and support to promote recovery and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify mental health concerns and current risk factors.
  2. Incorporate objective findings from laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, specialist reports, and past medical history to inform care planning.
  3. Develop and implement individualized care plans that address patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
  4. Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote understanding and self-management of mental health conditions.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • A minimum of three to five years of recent pediatric experience in an ambulatory care setting, including the care and management of children with mental health problems.
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and ability to document findings accurately and efficiently.
