CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health is committed to delivering high-quality mental health care to children, youth, and families. We are seeking a qualified Mental Health Nurse to join our team in Calgary as part of our expanding Trauma program.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide trauma-focused, attachment-centric care to Albertan children, youth, and families. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing patients' physical and psychosocial needs, developing individualized care plans, and providing education and support to promote recovery and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify mental health concerns and current risk factors.
- Incorporate objective findings from laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, specialist reports, and past medical history to inform care planning.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote understanding and self-management of mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- A minimum of three to five years of recent pediatric experience in an ambulatory care setting, including the care and management of children with mental health problems.
- Membership in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and ability to document findings accurately and efficiently.
- A competitive salary range of $39.49 - $51.99 per hour, commensurate with experience.
