Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Development Control Specialist with the County of Northern Lights. As a key member of our Planning and Development team, you will be responsible for meeting with landowners/residents to discuss development and planning matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with landowners/residents to discuss development and planning matters.
  • Conduct site inspections of development applications and subdivision applications as required.
  • Process land use amendments, development/subdivision/oil well applications, updating related listings accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Prepare notices and follow the correct advertising procedure for land use amendments and development permits.
  • Prepare Request for Decision (RFD) for development matters and attend Council meetings as a resource person on development issues.

Requirements:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Ongoing professional development in Applied Land Use Planning, Geographic Information Systems, and Public Administration.
