About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Database Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Oracle databases, providing technical expertise and support to ensure high availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems to meet business requirements
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues
  • Develop and implement database performance tuning and optimization strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems meet business needs
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database technologies and best practices
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a medium to large production environment
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c and 19c, including installation, configuration, backup and recovery, and migration
  • Experience with Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) for clustering and high availability
  • Experience with Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) for storage management
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery and data protection
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Red Hat Ansible Automation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
