About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a seasoned Oracle DBA to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting database systems that meet the needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database systems that meet business requirements and ensure high availability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain database scripts to enhance performance and tuning.
  • Provide technical analysis and recommendations to improve database systems and resolve complex problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems meet business needs and resolve technical issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle technologies and best practices to ensure our database systems are optimized and secure.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience as an Oracle DBA in a medium to large production environment.
  • Experience with Oracle 12c to 19c upgrades and migrations.
  • Experience with Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) for clustering and high availability.
  • Experience with Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM) for storage management.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Guard for high availability, data protection, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 12 and 13.
  • Experience with SQL for database performance and tuning.
  • Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation.
  • Strong awareness and knowledge of database security and auditing practices.
