About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our database team, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting database systems to ensure high availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database systems to meet business requirements
  • Develop and maintain database performance tuning strategies
  • Provide technical analysis and recommendations to improve database systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle database technologies and best practices
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a medium to large production environment
  • Experience with Oracle 12c to 19c upgrades and migrations
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM), and Data Guard
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and SQL performance tuning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
