Job Title: Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist


At Dufferin & Bloor Auto Repair & Sales Inc., we are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex diesel engine systems.


About the Role:


We are looking for an experienced professional who can work independently and as part of a team to maintain and repair heavy equipment. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues using computerized and other testing equipment.


Responsibilities:


The Heavy Equipment Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for:



  • Troubleshooting and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
  • Ordering parts and maintaining inventory
  • Adjusting equipment and repairing or replacing defective parts
  • Maintaining maintenance reports and documentation
  • Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and ensuring that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other maintenance work
  • Verifying and repairing emission control systems

What We Offer:


We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a full-time position with opportunities for professional growth and development.


Requirements:


To be considered for this role, you must have:



  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • An Other Trades certificate or diploma
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks

Work Environment:


This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.
