About the Role:
VON Canada is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in Nova Scotia. As an LPN with VON, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing medical care to children, youth, adults, and seniors in their homes and other settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care to clients in their homes and other settings, including diabetes management, dialysis, medication management, palliative care, phlebotomy, and wound care.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical and emotional needs, and provide education and support to clients and their families.
- Document client information and progress in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices and new developments in the field.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Nova Scotia.
- Experience in community health an asset.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This role requires a detail-oriented approach in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying (using proper techniques), bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements that emphasize good body mechanics. Individuals in the role are required to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day, with some tasks requiring fine hand movements.
