Overview

Smoking Gun Interactive, a pioneering game development studio, is seeking a talented Art Director to lead the artistic direction of new and existing projects. This permanent full-time position is based in our Downtown Vancouver office, with opportunities for remote work.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop and champion the artistic direction for various genres and audiences
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to deliver cohesive art styles across projects
  • Manage artists of all levels, including performance evaluations and team leadership
  • Participate in project pitches, scoping, estimating, and client communication
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience as an art director or senior concept artist on console/PC and mobile projects
  • Expert knowledge of technical skills: concept art, illustration, marketing art, UI and UX design, high/low poly 3D sculpting and modelling
  • Demonstrable mastery of art fundamentals: lighting, form, anatomy, composition, colour, animation, and layout in 2D and 3D
