At Electronic Arts, we're looking for a talented Creative Director to join our team and help shape the future of game development. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll play a crucial role in defining the creative vision and strategy for our games.



Job Overview

The Creative Director will be responsible for leading a team of designers, artists, and engineers to create engaging and immersive gaming experiences. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including producers, writers, and other directors to ensure that our games meet the highest standards of quality and innovation.



Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $126,000 - $176,300 annually, depending on location. In addition to your base salary, you'll also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including vacation time, sick leave, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and a retirement plan.



Responsibilities

  1. Establish and Uphold Best Practices

  • Define and implement best practices for design methodology, design process, communication of designs, documentation, designer onboarding, and resources.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Manage Design Goals and Status

  • Communicate the status of design goals, documentation, and implementation across all features to leadership and the team.
  • Work closely with production, development, and game design directors to manage designer assignments, capacity planning, and productivity.

Partner with Cross-Functional Teams

  • Collaborate with game design directors, production, and development directors to manage designer assignments, capacity planning, and productivity.
  • Manage communication, relationships, and syncs with partner teams and other disciplines.

Manage Design Communication Channels

  • Develop and maintain design communication channels, including status updates, team health reports, team shares, and intradisciplinary syncs.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication throughout the development process.

Grow Game Designers

  • Collaborate with game designers to develop their skills and expertise through training, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
  • Support the career development of game designers, including creating development plans and identifying growth opportunities and resources.

Promote Positive Workplace Culture

  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a healthy and productive work environment.


Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:




  • 10+ Years of Experience in Game Design
  • Expertise with Multiple Stages of Development
  • Experience with Change Management and Improving Team Operations
  • Expertise with Proprietary Game Design Tools and Development Environments
  • Proven Experience Growing Careers and Managing Teams
  • Strong Leadership and Communication Skills


Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience Working on Large Teams and Complex Projects
  • Experience in Production or Project Management Roles
  • Worked on AAA HD or Mobile Cross-Platform Titles
  • Experience Working in Waterfall and Agile Environments
  • Experience Across Multiple Areas of Game Design
  • Experience Working with Research Departments and Product Management
  • Design Experience on Games Focusing on Open-Ended Player Creativity and Complex Interconnected Systems
