About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Hardwood Floor Covering Specialist to join our team at H&A Contractor Inc. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality hardwood floor installations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and Prepare Surfaces: Inspect surfaces to be covered and prepare them for installation by measuring, marking, and removing any existing floor coverings or contaminants.
  • Plan and Schedule Installations: Prepare flooring plans and schedules to ensure efficient and timely installations.
  • Install Hardwood Floors: Install hardwood floors, including hardwood strip flooring and intricate patterns flooring.
  • Conduct Pre-Installation Tests: Conduct moisture, pH, temperature, and other tests prior to flooring installations to ensure the best possible results.
  • Remove Existing Floor Coverings: Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants to prepare surfaces for installation.
  • Read and Interpret Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate installations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a dusty environment and handle heavy loads.
  • Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding work requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Tools and Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and gloves.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, judgement, organized, and team player.
