Our Team:

As a Desktop Systems Specialist at ILM, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that works closely with our creative and administrative teams to deliver exceptional service and support. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our studio's IT infrastructure, including desktop and server systems, and providing technical assistance to our staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop and server systems, including hardware and software issues.
  • Manage and maintain our inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring that our systems are up-to-date and running efficiently.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our IT operations.
  • Collaborate with our creative teams to ensure that our IT systems meet their needs and support their workflows.
  • Participate in projects to upgrade and improve our studio's IT infrastructure, including migrations, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and knowledge base to support our IT operations.
  • Deliver scripting and automation solutions using bash or python to improve our IT processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in IT operations, including desktop and server systems, hardware and software support, and inventory management.
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Linux, Windows, and macOS operating systems, as well as experience with virtual and bare-metal workstations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Experience in visual effects, gaming, or similar creative studio environments is a plus.
  • CompTIA+ or equivalent industry certifications are a plus.
