Job Title: Director of Facilities Management

Winnipeg School Division is seeking a strategic leader to oversee the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of all division facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of policies related to the management of divisional facilities.
  • Prepare and implement the division's Five-Year Capital Plan.
  • Develop tender requirements and manage the tendering process to prevent potential conflicts of interest.
  • Ensure projects comply with division guidelines, government regulations, and building codes.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of the Facilities Management Department budget and monitor performance against the approved budget.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with external stakeholders and partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Facilities Management team.
  • Monitor the effectiveness, quality, and economy of department services.
Requirements:
  • Professional designation in a field such as architecture, engineering, facility management, or facility design.
  • At least ten years of experience within a Facilities Management Department, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Project planning and management of significant capital projects.
  • Multi-disciplined knowledge of the principles of planning, design, and construction of large-scale projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Manitoba building codes and regulations.
