The Opportunity:
Our client, a leading propane distribution company in Canada, is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst for a 2–3-month contract assignment. This role involves ensuring smooth invoice processing, managing timely payments, and building strong vendor relationships.
As part of their finance team, you will help maintain data integrity while keeping our clients' operations efficient and compliant.
Key Responsibilities- Invoice Processing:
- Ensuring invoices are coded correctly, matched with purchase orders, properly approved, and recorded in the accounting system.
- Payment Processing and Control:
- Preparing a list of items to be paid, verifying them, and preparing them for import into the banking system. Ensuring timely payments, avoiding overpayments or double payments, and adhering to payment schedules.
- Vendor Management and Communication:
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors, handling inquiries and disputes, ensuring effective communication to resolve any payment or service issues promptly.
- Vendor Master Data Management:
- Ensuring timely, accurate, and complete management of vendor master data, including setting up new vendors, updating existing information, verifying vendor bank accounts, and avoiding duplicates to maintain data integrity.
- 3+ years in accounts payable or a related accounting role, with a strong understanding of invoice processing and payment controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Strong attention to accuracy in coding invoices, managing payment schedules, and maintaining vendor master data integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective vendor management and internal collaboration.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
This position offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, and the opportunity to work with a dynamic company in the Canadian market.
