Job Overview
Fort McKay First Nation is seeking an experienced Educational Assistant to join our team at Elsie Fabian School. As a key member of our education department, you will play a vital role in supporting students with significant academic delays and providing additional focus on literacy and numeracy interventions.

About the Role
The successful candidate will assist students individually or in small groups, implementing research-based approaches for literacy, numeracy, and English language learner programs. This full-time position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support students' literacy and numeracy development.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
  • Utilize various teaching tools and resources to engage students and promote learning.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to share student progress and provide recommendations for ongoing support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Certified Educational Assistant Certificate required.
  • Related degree or diploma considered an asset.
  • Previous experience working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
