Compensation and Benefits Manager

Located in St. Thomas, Ontario, this role is responsible for administering employee benefit programs, leading the annual design process to ensure plans meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost-effective. Key responsibilities include providing direction to benefit plan providers, managing vendor relationships, negotiating administrative fee arrangements, and monitoring operational results.
Responsibilities:
- Administer employee benefit programs and lead the annual design process to ensure plans are competitive and cost-efficient.
- Provide direction to benefit plan providers concerning approved plan design and administration, manage vendor relationships/performance, negotiate administrative fee arrangements, and monitor operational results for benefit planning purposes.
- Manage benefit plan budget for welfare plans, retirement, service recognition program, corporate credit cards program, relocation, vehicle program, charitable giving, etc.
- Develop and document processes related to benefits administration, compliance, and data integrity, ensuring SAP supports benefit plan administration data and interface requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Sociology or related area, and/or equivalent work experience.
- 7+ years of experience in benefit plan design and administration, and 3+ years of experience managing a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian benefit and pension legislation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to plan, schedule, and deliver both long- and short-term projects with consideration to stakeholders and adherence to strict deadlines.
- Experience with HR SAP, SuccessFactors is considered an asset.
- Ability to manage and scale projects.
