About the Role

BBA Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Engineer to join our team of experts in the Oil, Gas and Biofuels sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing projects and building strong relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop process design fundamentals and criteria
  • Apply established calculation and design methods
  • Produce mass and energy balances using simulation software
  • Design and specify process equipment
  • Supervise a team of engineers, as required
  • Contribute to project cost estimates
  • Perform equipment commissioning and performance testing
  • Conduct inspections or technical surveys
  • Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Participate in risk studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, What-if)
  • Contribute to technical and economic feasibility studies
  • Review and verify process engineering deliverables produced by other team members
  • Develop proposals and client presentations
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the process team and the firm
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in the Oil, Gas and Biofuels industry
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • Strong statistical and analytical knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics
  • Interest in the environment and energy transition
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficient with Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS process simulation software
  • Proficient with Fathom and PIPE-FLO simulation software for hydraulic calculations
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English and French)
  • Asset: experience in consulting and established clientele
  • Asset: experience with methanation, LNG, pyrolysis, gasification and other processes involving hydrocarbons, biofuels and bioplastics
