About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Process Engineering Manager to join our Minerals & Metals Business line in Vancouver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strong leadership and management to our process engineering group, ensuring their reputation for excellence and depth of expertise in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the process engineering group in Vancouver, driving growth and professional development
  • Comply with all corporate policies and procedures, adopting quality assurance and occupational health, safety, and environment policies and procedures
  • Ensure process engineering design and documentation meets study and project scope and objectives, and adheres to Ausenco standards
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure overall study/project success, developing close working relationships with process engineers and establishing relationships with in-house experts and specialists
  • Provide expertise throughout engineering phases, from conceptual design to detailed design, and develop connections within the company to leverage capabilities
  • Contribute to cost-efficient design of plants by applying innovative solutions and technological developments, benchmarking designs and layouts with best practices
  • Work within study and project teams to meet scope requirements, ensuring time and budget objectives are achieved, and develop process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, and line lists
  • Assist in developing winning proposals for clients, highlighting process capabilities and 'smarts', and establish contacts with technical managers/experts on clients' sides
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Process Team, delivering best practice solutions through the application of knowledge of industry developments and experience of past trends or different situations
  • Act as a Qualified Person for NI 43-101 compliant documents where appropriate

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a degree in metallurgical engineering, mineral processing, or chemical engineering, and 10+ years of solid experience in the mineral processing industry, ideally with experience in both recognized engineering houses and operational settings. You should be a registered professional engineer in Canada, with broad knowledge of process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulics, pump calculations, plant layout, relief system design, materials, and process engineering calculations.

Requirements

  • Operational experience at mines, mineral processing, or metallurgical facilities, including solving problems and/or expanding production
  • Experience in mill, concentrator, and/or metallurgical plant design, particularly for base and precious metals, or expertise in one or more process stages
  • Knowledge of engineering workflow process and working knowledge of industry process-related software, codes, and standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify underlying principles or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions
  • Demonstrated ability for time management and working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong technical communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify talent, develop professionals, and grow the process engineering group
