Key Responsibilities:- Support the Deputy Fire Chiefs in developing and implementing a long-term strategic fire protection plan to ensure compliance with CARS regulations and NFPA standards.
- Provide relief coverage for Operations Battalion Chiefs and serve as the on-call duty chief for policy administration.
- Manage and evaluate staffing levels for proper response and coverage policies, presenting recommendations to the Deputy Fire Chief.
- Assume the Deputy Fire Chief's responsibilities in their absence to ensure compliance with CARS regulations, NFPA standards, and the Airport Emergency Plan.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in fire and rescue services.
- Valid BC Driver's License, Class 3 with air brake endorsement.
- Demonstrated computer competency in business software programs and business writing skills.
- Ability to obtain DAVOP License and Restricted Radio Operator License - Aeronautical within 3 months of employment.
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Emergency Management, Fire Service Leadership, or a related field.
