Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and HR Administrator to join our team at Metroland Media Group Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for payroll and human resources to support various HR activities and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll: Process bi-weekly and monthly divisional payrolls, including entering payroll data, running payroll calculations, processing commissions and incentives, and balancing payroll taxes and other payments.
  • Payroll Administration: Run pay period and error reports, correct discrepancies, and reconcile with pay data from the payroll system.
  • Payroll Compliance: Process all applicable payroll requirements, including new hires, rate changes, and terminations.
  • HR Administration: Provide exceptional customer service, support HR team members, and manage onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Benefits Administration: Support benefit administration, including open medical claims and coordinate with HR managers and managers.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field combined with a CPA designation or working towards the PCP designation.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of processing payroll and experience in HR administration is considered an asset.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and best practices, proficiency with payroll/HRIS/Time and Attendance systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $75,000 and a hybrid work model with a downtown office location and remote options available.
