The City of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Human Resources Advisor to join our Seniors Services and Long-Term Care Division. This exciting opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in human resources, labour relations, and organizational effectiveness to drive positive change and support the delivery of exceptional care and services to Toronto seniors and residents in long-term care homes.

Job Description

This role will provide critical support to leaders across all sites related to various facets of Human Resources, including Labour/Employee Relations, Strategy Development and Planning, Performance Management, Organization Design and Restructuring, Change Management, and Disability Management.

You will be responsible for providing employee and labour relations support, coaching and supporting leaders in addressing performance improvement issues, conducting studies, preparing confidential reports, and implementing detailed plans and recommending policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.

This role also involves providing client-driven, value-added management consulting services to a portfolio of diverse consulting projects related to Human Resources, working in support of project steering committees and leading interdepartmental teams and working groups.

Key Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function (i.e. Human Resources, Business Administration), or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Considerable experience delivering Employee/Labour Relations support and in at least one additional Human Resource functional area in a major unionized or private sector organization.
  • Experience with consultation and advisory skills, with the ability to work at all levels of the organization in assessing organizational needs and developing and implementing effective programs and strategies within a unionized work environment.
About the Role

This position offers a competitive salary, estimated to be in the range of $85,000 to $115,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
