Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Prospecting and cold-calling new accounts to discuss new promotions and other incentives
  • Maintaining good working relationships with customers by regularly communicating with them on current service, new products and services, and new promotions
  • Visiting customers in your area of responsibility on a regular basis to ensure their satisfaction and identify new business opportunities
  • Developing prospective customers through effective sales techniques and strategies
  • Increasing parts and service sales and providing Material Handling sales leads to the Material Handling sales team
  • Implementing yearly territory plans, including customer target lists and sales goals
  • Maintaining accurate records of customer interactions, sales meetings, and other relevant documentation

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Journeyman ticket as a heavy-duty mechanic and/or parts person (an asset)
  • Previous sales experience in the material handling industry
  • Ability to travel within the territory and work flexible hours
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract required
  • Positive and professional attitude towards both internal and external challenges
  • Understanding of specialized material handling equipment and industry
  • Strong time management and people skills, with a high desire to serve customers and nurture relationships
  • Ability to work unsupervised, make decisions, complete tasks under pressure, and cooperate with team members who may have different focus and priorities
  • Proficient skills with basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel)

Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
