Job Description:

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to support our Coronary Care Unit at Mount Sinai Hospital. The Coronary Care Unit is a 6-bed unit that cares for a variety of patients with cardiac conditions, including patients experiencing cardiac events that may include acute coronary syndromes and cardiac arrhythmias.

Responsibilities:

* Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
* BScN (preferred)
* Completion of Level 2 Critical Care Certificate or equivalent from an accredited academic institution (preferred)
* Completion of Cardiology Nursing – level 3 course (required)
* Current/recent 1 - 2 years Adult Medical/Surgical experience
* Current BCLS certificate
* Current ACLS certificate (preferred)
* Sound knowledge base and demonstrated skill in advanced assessment and documentation, arrhythmia interpretations, defibrillation, temporary pacemakers, hemodynamic monitoring, high alert drug administration, lead ECG interpretation, set-up and assistance in bedside procedures, complex cardiac patient care, monitoring telemetry and caring for patients who require or have received thrombolytic therapy, monitoring and transporting cardiac patients for inter-facility transfers, pre and post cardiac procedures, providing patient education re: cardiac medications, pre/post procedure expectations, etc.

* Skilled at multi-tasking with excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
