Job Title: Director, Major Capital Projects Delivery

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Major Capital Projects Delivery team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of complex healthcare projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of capital delivery plans for complex healthcare projects, including advice and input for formal submissions with recommendations suitable for consideration by Senior Leadership, Board, and Ministry of Health approvals.
  • Provide leadership for delivery of capital projects, including application of knowledge and expertise into design and construction for projects.
  • Advising the planning and procurement strategies in alignment with organizational goals, strategies, and key initiatives.
  • Leading relationship and conflict management on capital project delivery, including risk assessment, quality assurance, and management of escalated issues.
  • Ensuring contracts comply with legislative, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Working with other internal partners to educate clients about the construction process and requirements, drafting appropriate documents, and maintaining sound internal and external relations with customers, senior Leadership, and government.
  • In alignment with IH's Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards, and communicating risks.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in leading capital project delivery teams and overseeing complex healthcare projects.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, including planning, procurement, and construction.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.

Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

The salary range for this position is $116,591 to $167,600.
