Job Title: Pastry Chef

THE GOOD TIME BAKERY is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating delicious bakery goods and desserts that exceed our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimate and manage supplies and food costs to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to inform menu planning and purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and implement new cooking techniques and equipment training for our cooking staff.
  • Supervise and mentor specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Create innovative new recipes to enhance our menu offerings.
  • Train and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food to ensure high-quality dishes.
  • Prepare and cook food for regular customers, special guests, and functions.
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets our high quality standards.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership, dependability, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 40 hours per week, permanent position.
