Job Summary
This organization is currently seeking an Event Manager & Engagement Specialist to become part of the Technology Communications & Outreach (TCO) team within its Technology Oversight & Coordination organization (TOC). TCO plays a vital role in fulfilling TOC's mission of generating value through effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders. The selected candidate will be tasked with enhancing stakeholder engagement specifically for the organization's sustainability technologies. As a key member of the team, the Event Manager and Engagement Specialist will aid in the planning and execution of events and public relations campaigns for Technology Oversight and Coordination (TOC). Ideal candidates should possess expertise in specialized branding and marketing concepts, principles, and tactics. Proficiency in both English and Arabic is essential for effective communication and engagement with a variety of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage global workshops, events, and conferences focused on sustainability, climate change, and innovations in climate technologies.
  • Develop annual event and branding engagement strategies for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organize visits with VIPs, universities, and other relevant organizations as necessary.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, develop scopes of work, and oversee work programs.
  • Align, promote, and support corporate communication initiatives.
  • Establish and manage an internal communication governance framework with periodic strategic reviews and bi-weekly tactical assessments.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts and strategies.
  • Develop marketing campaigns, brand materials, and long-term strategies, overseeing the work of external consultants including web developers, videographers, and online platform vendors.
  • Manage brand resources and processes to ensure consistent brand delivery, including message frameworks, visual assets, key terminology, accurate data, and highlights.
  • Conduct extensive quantitative and qualitative market research to implement data-driven marketing campaigns and meet organization-wide strategic objectives.
  • Support organizational growth by developing content marketing and demand generation strategies that drive awareness and engagement.
  • Create and implement a strategic external events calendar to enhance awareness with new prospects and accelerate existing opportunities.
  • Develop a centralized events calendar for email campaigns, overseeing their full lifecycle including creative/copy development, data segmentation, and reporting/analysis.
  • Brainstorm and generate ideas for events.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to execute promotional events and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with marketing and other professionals to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience for events through appropriate channels such as social media, email, and other media.

Qualifications:

  • This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to a key operational hub.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, Media, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in event management.
  • Ability to work effectively both as a team player and independently.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field preferred from a recognized and accredited program.
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic communication and public affairs.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of addressing complex challenges and contexts.
  • Demonstrated confidence, integrity, and collaboration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic communication skills, with a high degree of emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Comfortable and effective in interactions with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and working-level partners.
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work and deliver results under pressure and to overcome challenges.
  • Requires significant travel worldwide, including various regions.
