Cardiology Nurse Specialist

Job Summary
Michael Garron Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology team. As a Cardiology Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive, effective patient-centered care in our Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level functioning of the healthcare team, including care and discharge planning, coordination, and collaboration.
- Apply clinical knowledge and leadership skills to collect and interpret information, make appropriate nursing clinical decisions, and carry out competent therapeutic nursing interventions.
- Integrate leadership competencies within the coordinated care team to deliver exceptional patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
- Current Certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum two years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab or critical care setting.
- Coronary care 1 & 2 required.
- Current BCLS/ACLS certification.
- Knowledge of principles of hemodynamic monitoring.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to physically perform duties while wearing required workplace safety gear.
- Good work and attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years critical care experience.
- Previous OR experience an asset.
- Affiliation with professional organization an asset.
