About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our General Internal Medicine and Cardiology unit at Sinai Health. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with patients who require specialized care in areas such as cardiac and medical disease management, ECGs, and post-cardiac procedure care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply the nursing process to build confidence in practice and achieve positive patient outcomes
  • Provide cardiac monitoring for patients being transported to and from cardiac procedures, including Angio-Caths, cardiac CTs, and MRIs
  • Provide post-cardiac procedure care for patients, including those with a TR band
  • Complete ECGs for patients with cardiac symptoms
  • Manage simple and complex wounds
  • Insert and/or manage various tubes/lines, including NGTs, GTs, Foley catheters, chest tubes, PICCs, PIVs, SLs, NTs, stomas, Trachs, Nasal cannula, Hi Flow, and other oxygen devices
  • Collect blood, urine, sputum, and other specimens for lab testing

Requirements

  • Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Graduate of a CNO-approved bachelor's degree in nursing program, or equivalent combined education and experience
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Specialty certificate in Coronary Care, including ECG interpretation
  • Previous clinical experience working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses
