About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our General Internal Medicine and Cardiology unit at Sinai Health. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with patients who require specialized care for a range of conditions, from straightforward pneumonia diagnoses to intricate acute and chronic illnesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the nursing process to build confidence in practice and achieve positive patient outcomes
- Provide cardiac monitoring for patients being transported to and from cardiac procedures, including Angio-Caths, cardiac CTs, and MRIs
- Provide post-cardiac procedure care for patients, including those with a TR band
- Complete ECGs for patients with cardiac symptoms
- Manage simple and complex wounds
- Insert and/or manage various tubes/lines, including NGTs, GTs, Foley catheters, chest tubes, PICCs, PIVs, SLs, NTs, stomas, Trachs, Nasal cannula, Hi Flow, and other oxygen devices
- Collect blood, urine, sputum, and other specimens for lab testing
Requirements
- Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Graduate of a CNO-approved bachelor's degree in nursing program, or equivalent combined education and experience
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Specialty certificate in Coronary Care, including ECG interpretation
- Previous clinical experience working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses
