Job Title: Department Secretary

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, permanent Department Secretary to work in outpatient Geriatric Mental Health Services (GMHS). This role will provide administrative/clerical duties to a team of physicians and clinicians, ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document preparation and inter-programmatic correspondence
  • Responding to internal and external inquiries
  • Taking minutes
  • Maintaining office supplies
  • Compiling data
  • Booking and rescheduling appointments

The successful candidate will work closely with clinicians, psychiatrists, community service providers, client's representatives, clients, and families, both in person and over the telephone. This position may require flexible hours and will be part of the Geriatric Mental Health Services Admin Support Team.

Requirements:
  • A one-year Community College diploma in Office Administration or a related discipline
  • Two (2) years of secretarial/administrative experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in a healthcare environment and using Cerner I-CARE (PowerChart and Scheduling)

The ideal candidate will be creative and flexible with regard to types of tasks, a team player with a high degree of initiative, and able to work under pressure and deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in another language is an asset.
