About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to fill a Public Health Resource Nurse position in North Vancouver, BC. This role may require working at multiple locations across assigned geographical areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SUPPORT THE DELIVERY OF PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES THROUGH EDUCATION, CLINICAL LEADERSHIP, AND CLINICAL EXPERTISE TO DESIGNATED STAFF.
  • ASSESS, PLAN, ORGANIZE, COORDINATE, AND EVALUATE PUBLIC HEALTH ACTIONS ON KEY INDICATORS.
  • PROVIDE SUPERVISION TO NURSING STAFF BY MAKING ASSIGNMENTS, SCHEDULING, COORDINATING, EVALUATING COMPETENCY, AND IDENTIFYING TRAINING REQUIREMENTS.
  • COORDINATE PUBLIC HEALTH REPORTING REQUIREMENTS WITH PROGRAM SUPERVISOR/MANAGER.
  • COLLABORATE WITH REGIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH LEADS, PROGRAM LEADS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS.
  • CONSULT WITH INTERDISCIPLINARY TEAM MEMBERS, MEDICAL STAFF, COMMUNITY PHYSICIANS, EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, AND OTHER HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS.
Qualifications and Skills
  • REGISTERED NURSE REGISTRATION WITH BCCNM.
  • THREE YEARS RECENT EXPERIENCE IN PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING, INCLUDING ONE YEAR OF SUPERVISORY/LEADERSHIP/TEACHING EXPERIENCE.
  • BCCDC IMMUNIZATION CERTIFICATION.
