Job Summary

The Pacific National Exhibition is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Manager, Public Safety & Guest Experience to join our team. This role will provide operational support to the Public Safety department, including scheduling and planning event-based operations and site security personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support to the Public Safety department, including scheduling and planning event-based operations and site security personnel.
  • Assist with interpreting, implementing, and maintaining policies, rules and guidelines pertaining to the Public Safety Department.
  • Create schedules for the event and site security teams.
  • Directly manage physical security systems, including access control, alarms, and CCTV.
  • Assist with time approval duties on an as needed basis.
  • Liaise with the Sales department to coordinate parking lot rentals.
  • Coordinate and track security license requirements.
  • Undertake a variety of research projects as directed by the Operations management team.
  • Assist with the hiring, onboarding, and coordination of departmental training of staff.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of previous operational experience, preferably in Public Safety or Guest Experience capacities.
  • Must have or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment, a valid BC Security Worker License.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, communication and administrative skills.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships with peers, subordinates, and external contacts.
  • Comfortable with autonomy and working under pressure, with ability to meet multiple service demands simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be available and willing to work a varied schedule that will at times include evenings and weekends.
